NICU Nurse looking for a new career

I've been an NICU nurse for 5 years, 2 of them I have spent as a travel nurse. I'm thinking about leaving bedside nursing but am unsure what else is out there based on my experience. Any ideas? I would love to do something related to the NICU, maybe research. I also wouldn't be opposed to going back to school to get my masters.

What else do you think we're qualified for as NICU nurses?

Car Seat trainer

Lactation consultant

Outreach education to other facilities (eg NRP instructor, STABLE, neonatal education)

Pharm or equipment rep, eg Synagis, pediarix, cpap units, vents, developmental aids, etc.

Teach Maternal/newborn class/clinical at an undergrad level.


Just a few ideas....
