Talking Need opinion...short and sweet

Hi! I am not a NICU nurse but I wanted to get an opinion.

Sept. 15th is National Neonatal Nurse Day (I guess ya'll know that ). I am thinking of sending flowers to the NICU at both hospitals that provided care for my son last year before he passed away because I don't think I am going to be able to make it to either facility.

Would this be ok or would just a card of thanks be better? I know this is trivial, but I wanted some opinions.

Thank you!

I think it would be wery sweet of you to send flowers.
But I think that a basket of candy is maby even better, in my NICU we just love it when the parents send us some chocolate.

But watever you do I am sure the staff will be happy to hear from you.

...... I am so sorry for your loss........

Yes, great idea. Be sure and put the baby's that he was known by in the hospital on it too because sometimes we don't necessarily remember the baby's first name but will remember Baby Boy Smith with first name John for instance.

Anything food related would be excellent. Flowers are a nice thought too but some ICU's don't allow flowers inside since they can carry bugs or dirt or whatever.

Sorry for your loss.

What a sweet idea! I, for one, had no idea when it was (that's night shift for you!), so thank you for posting that!

I'm sure they would be delighted to hear from you and know that they made an impact in your life, and hear how you are doing. I know I would!

They would love it that you thought of them, how sweet for you to do anything.

I've just noticed this now....and as a NICU nurse I hope you did as you planned........the staff would have remembered too, and would love such a thought.

So very sorry for your loss.

I did! I brought the nurses a basket of candy when we went to get Ethan's autopsy report (it was actually Sept. 16 that we went) and they loved it! Only one of his nurses was there, though, but hopefully I can see the rest another time.

I think that would be SUCH an awesome thing! You and I know that when we are told we made a difference it makes a difference for US! And flowers, yeah, they really put a bounce in my step. I say go for it!

And for you, my dear, on the anniversary of your loss, so sorry ... {{{{{{{?burntout}}}}}}} (I don't think you are burnt-out, maybe grieving, what a sweetie you are) ... some flowers for you!
