I have the previous version of this review book and it's excellent! Everything is divided into chapters and broken up into short tests, so it's very easy to work on one chapter at a time and it doesn't seem overwhelming. In the back, not only are there answers but rationales for why each answer is right or wrong. Excellent review!

Question about certification?

This may be a silly question but please forgive me I am just learning about all this nursing stuff..

What do you get certified by these exams for?

I am just confused because they require 2 years experience in the NICU.. so once you have all the experience you wouldn't necesarily need to be certified to get a better job..

Do you get certified in case you go to a diff hospital? Or does your pay increase with certifications?

Sorry for the ignorance just curious why it's good to get certified if you are able to work in a nicu BE4 being certified...

Re: NCC Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification

The certification really tests you on info you don't grasp until you're been a NICU nurse for a while. My particular hospital does pay a certification differential. It recognizes dedication to and expertise in your particular field.

Re: NCC Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification

The hospital I work in has a clinical ladder that recognizes education and certification.
