Can anyone give me any ordering information for a neonatal CPAP device that uses a soft flexible nasal mask instead of the horrible nasal prongs? I remember using and loving the device when I worked in Chicago several years back but I forget who manufactured the device and I can't seem to find the right information online. My current hospital uses the nasal prongs only but everyone is very interested in the nasal mask CPAP and have told me if I can found out the ordering information they will give it a try. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Infant Flow systems makes a nasal mask CPAP. My last unit alternated prongs and mask q 6h, and we saw very little septal/bridge damage.

I used the regular Infant Flow CPAP driver, and occasionally the siPAP unit that Weeone mentioned.

We ordered them through an American "dealer", though I can't remember who. I would contact the manufacturer directly.

We mainly use the system that WeeOne mentioned - we like it because it also as SiPAP on it. We usually start off using the masks, and then alternate with the prongs q6h if needed. Some kids will keep their pressures better on one over the other - just depends on the shape of their faces...
The only downside we are finding with this system is that sometimes on the micropremies, due to the shape of the head gear, their heads are getting molded kind of oddly... When this happens, we switch to our old set up for a few days.

We use a newer type of mask/prong set up that uses straps for headgear so you can still start scalp IVs if needed. It's great! The masks and the prongs are made from a very flexible and soft material. The company is called AirLife. The set ups are compatible with both of our CPAP set ups that we have
