I got it!

I've been so busy I forgot to come post! I got the job in the NICU where I did my final rotation! I'm starting a month later than I had hoped, but that's really only a problem because I'm broke. Strangely for a new grad (so I'm told) I'm actually feeling pretty confident. I'm sure that will go away after a couple of days. : This is absolutely my dream job. One of the ten (maybe five?) best NICUs in the country, Level IIIc regional referral center, and I know the unit already and the people.

Of course, tips and advice are always welcome (esp mnemonics or tricks on how to memorize ABGs, lytes, and vent settings!) and if anyone has an excellent report sheet they want to share, I'd be much obliged.

Great news! I'd pass on some great wisdom to you, but I'm a rookie myself. Glad to hear you ended up where you wanted though.

Congratulations Elizabells! You'll make a great NICU nurse! Are you going to work and go to school part time or are you taking a year off from Columbia?

Wishing you the best,

I know that I said this in another forum, but congratulations, Elizabells. It sounds like you got into a great hospital. Hope you have many happy years there.

Re: I got it!

Congratulations! You'll be a great NICU addition.

Out of curiosity, how was the senior rotation in NICU? Final semester will be here soon, and I'm hoping to do my preceptorship in the NICU. I'd love to hear how you felt as a student intern there and the sorts of learning experiences you had...

Again, best wishes! When do you start?

A
