Helpful thoughts......?

I am a new grad who will start in the NICU in June which I am thrilled about. However, having had VERY limited exposure to that environment and nursing I wondered anyone could share some thoughts as to any areas I could brush up on that may make the transition easier.

Any advice etc would be gratefully received by this nervous newcomer!!

Re: Helpful thoughts......?

Brush up on normal and abnormal neonatal assessment, APGAR scoring, Ballard gestational age assessment, neonatal VS parameters..... That oughta get you started. Remember that most of us learned what we know on the job. Just focus on the basics for now. The rest will come.
