Re: Funny Names

Right now we have a Chocolate. The parents are saying it's pronounced "Shah-Colette". It's written Chocolate. All I can think of is the movie Top Secret where one of the people at the end that Val Kilmer meets is " El Chocolate Mousse"...pronounced " El Shah-Colette Mousse".

Re: Funny Names

I try to talk with the parent if is is really rediculous . I try to point out that you need to think about how it is going to sound if you child becomes president. Then, if that does not work I just say "you know she will never be able to go to the store and find preprinted pen, pencils or anything else with her name on. Think how sad she will feel" This usually works because the parent ,most of the time has a rediculous name also and knew what it was like never finding a pencil with their name on. Amazing what the mention of a pencil will do. They don't care about the fact that getting a job with a rediculous name is even harder!!!

Re: Funny Names

Not really a funny name story, but a funny story about names. I have been taking care of a set of twins for awhile now. For the first 4 days, they had no names. I guess the parents weren't prepared for a preterm delivery and hadn't yet picked names or whatever. So on the 4th night I was speaking to mom on the phone, and she told me that the babies now had names. The twin I was taking care of (still 1:1's at that point) was Isabella (along with about half the girls on the unit, very popular name!). So the parents came in later that night, and I referred to the girls by name rather than baby A and baby B. I say, "Isabella blah, blah, blah" when updating them on what was going on. Dad goes, "Isa-who?" I guess mom didn't tell him she named the babies!

She was heavenly until she grew some teeth and learned to walk and talk.

I feel for the parents of the latest Heaven "ly" (aka lee) if their bit of heaven turns out like ours who is a

I hope you're yanking our chains with that one. Poor little kid if you're serious.
