What is the nurse externship like at your NICU? Have you noticed any nurses being hired who have taken the externship either at your hospital or another hospital? What about graduate nurses that have the externship experience, do interviewers like that?

My nicu doesn't have an externship program, but I did 2 summer externships in ICU/Tele and was offered RN jobs on the spot in both areas when I was done. HR came to one of our weekly extern meetings to get the hiring process started if we were interested.
