Lightbulb Evidence-based practices encourage critical thinking in nursing. What do you think?

In current health care environment requires nurses with the skills to find and apply the best evidence practice for effective health care. A question comes into my mind recently and would like to hear all of your opinions on this area.

Sure it does...it makes you look at all the issues. We routinely do CI projects and that is why.

Re: Evidence-based practices encourage critical thinking in nursing. What do you think?

I think whether or not evidence-based practice encourages critical thinking depends upon whether we are talking about the process of determining what is evidence-based. The process, yes, I thinks requires research and critical thinking. If you mean applying something that someone else has determined is best practice [without reviewing the evidence for yourself] then it does not.
