Am I missing something here? Did she say she had IUI because she was having miscarriages???

I think so...I'm really not up on infertility treatment/issues, but I thought you needed to have more than a couple of miscarriages to get IUI,etc?

IUI is often used relatively early in the treatment of infertility, especially when the cause is unclear. She had conceived twice, so apparently her tubes were in good working order, and hubby's sperm was of decent quality. IUI increases the odds of conception as compared to a "natural" cycle, and is relatively inexpensive and less invasive than other treatment methods. Her previous miscarriages probably did not impact the decision to try IUI.

Actually, you can have IUI whenever you want. Fertility centers will never turn down a dollar.
Here IUI costs $400. IVF can cost $10,000-25,000.

Well, semen if full of prostaglandins which cause incredible cramping once inside the uterus. Unless you can figure out a way to wash the semen to get only sperm, then I guess you can try this at home. In that case, it's no difference than regular old sex.

Ok, I read some on their website, I don't know why, it just makes me mad. But I did, and I think some of you guys are right, even though she is a PA, obviously she doesn't know all that much. But if she is posting on a computer why doesn't she look up info on 28 weekers? That would be one of the things I would be doing if I was in bed all the time (actually, it was one of the things I did). I just hope these babies do well, and hopefully make it way past 28 weeks, in spite of the parents. I know the likelihood of them making it past 32 weeks is slim, but I would be shooting for that as my "goal", anyway. Actually, I would be shooting for 37 weeks, lol. And to tell the truth, now that I have 3 kids, I don't think I would ever do anything that could result in a sextuplet pregnancy. I can totally understand someone who wants a baby doing fertility treatments that could result in high order multiples, but aren't there ways now to prevent this?
