I want to work in the NICU and I currently have an extern in the NICU. However, I am extreamly concerned with choosing the best first job as a nurse. Anyone have any advice good or bad on where I should go? I am obviously looking at either Desert or PCH. I just want to make the best decision because I think your first year as a new nurse is the most important one.

Like I posted in your other thread, you might want to check out the AZ forum for some advice on this matter since it's specific to AZ hospitals.

Lots of hospitals in the valley have great NICU orientation programs, Desert, PCH, St. Joes being among those. If I were you I would probably start in a new grad program in the NICU you're an extern in.

Thanks for both of your replies raindreamer. I posted this topic in the AZ forum as well, I just thought if you were a NICU nurse in AZ you probably still come to the NICU forum.
