Academy of Neonatal Nursing vs. NANN?

Hello,
Just wondering what people have joined (Academy of Neonatal Nursing or National Association of Neonatal Nurses). I really like the Academy's journal (Neonatal Network).Thoughts? T.

Re: Academy of Neonatal Nursing vs. NANN?

In case you don't know, the 2 organizations were founded by the same person (the publisher of Neonatal Network). NANN was established first. But after about 15 years, there was some infighting and financial troubles. The original founder of NANN left it and formed another organization ANN.

I was an old member of NANN and active in its leadership. When ANN was formed, I joined it also. I remain a member of both even though I don't practice in the NICU anymore. Each organization has its strengths. Neonatal Network is the journal more relevant to staff nurse practice -- but NANN has a lot to offer as well.
