Seriously contemplating becoming an LPN....

I'm new here...and am seriously contemplating becoming an LPN....

Just trying to solidify my decision before starting classes in OCT.

So I thought that talking with peeps who are already experienced..

would give me greater insight.

Re: Seriously contemplating becoming an LPN....

I did not start out to become a LPN I wanted my BSN but it didn't work out like I wanted it to so I decided to try another route and I got into the LPN program I am nervous about starting but I think in the end it will be worth it
Good luck with your decision

I have been a LPN for 11 years. I suggest going for your RN if you aren't pressed for time. It gives you more opportunities. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Re: Seriously contemplating becoming an LPN....

I see know other way but for me to be an LVN first since the only night program in DFW,TX is an LVN program. I want to be a nurse and I will get there anyway I can. But my current skill set makes me have to work an 8-5. I dont see anything wrong with becoming an LVN first...

Think about the reasons why you want to become a nurse, see if there is a high demand for LPNs in your area, and the rate of pay. I see nothing wrong with starting out as an LPN. I just got my license a few months ago, and I'll see if I like working as a nurse. I'm in orientation now, and it is a bit overwhelming, because it is all new to me.
