Interview and class info

I took my TEAS test in January of 2008, received letter the other day telling me that I passed it and I have an interview in March 2008. Does anyone have any ideas what they might ask in the interview. Also they want you to take a medical terminology and math for meds before you enter the program, is their a good online program for this, where I will also receive a certificate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Interview and class info

Here are some questions they might ask:

1. Why do you want to be a nurse?
2. Who would support your efforts during school?
3. How would you handle an angry patient?
4. If you were having a conflict with a classmate, what would you do?
5. How do you intend to pay for the tuition?
6. What are your plans after you complete this program?

Re: Interview and class info

I bought a used book for passing the nursing entrance exam.

"Review Guide for LPN/LVN Pre Entrance Exam, Second Edition (Review Guide for LPN/LVN Pre-Entrance Exam) by Mary E. McDonald"

It was a good review for basic math and grammar. I passed two entrance exams at two different schools so I think it was worth my time.

As for the interview: I wore a suit and was really nervous, but it went well. It was an informal meeting with the director of the program. I don't even remember the details or questions. You'll do fine.

Re: Interview and class info

A question that caught a bunch of my class by surprise was - What is the role is of the LVN and how does the role of the LVN differ from the role of a CNA? Good Luck on the interview, remember to make good eye contact with your interviewer(s).

Re: Interview and class info

It depends where you are going to school. When I took my entrance exam, they had us write a paragraph on why we wanted to become an LPN. So when I passed the test and went on to the 'interview' it was more about the openings available (only evenings were left) -if that worked for me, the hours, what was required of me and how many hours of class you could miss or be kicked out, etc. If you were agreeable to all of it, you got in. We did discuss a few things and chatted a bit but it was not an interview per se. Perhaps my test score and paragraph told her enough, I do not know but my 'interview' was very informal if you ask me. You'll be fine! Also- the way I look at it is.....you are paying for this program and as long as you passed the test, show that you are eager to learn- and don't show up dressed like an axe murderer they will probably let you in. LOL J/K
