@ joymama: 9 KIDS!!!!! I must say, honestly, that i am truly inspired by you. I have a 1 small daughter and i have been worrying about how im gonna go to nursing school and be an effective mommie. But ya know what, if u can do it with 9 kids then i have no right to complain about tackling nursing school w/ my one child. Again i say i am truly, TRULY inspired by you. God bless you and i just know that u will be a fabulous nurse!!!!

HI,
I am 27 yrs old & I began the LPN program in Feb. 08 at a private college. It is a 12 month program, so (hopefully) I will be a 2009 graduate! I have to say that going from a regular community college to a private one has really been challenging. We just started clinicals! Good luck to everyone!!

50 yr old dad of 2, here ...... this is a total career change, and a great opportunity - a local hospital is paying for everything (books, tuition, with a couple of grants covering uniforms, state boards, etc). Expected graduation is in March of '09 ......just have to "work it off" (no payroll deduction, just have to work there) for a couple of years at the hosp, or work elsewhere and pay it back - either way, it's a great opportunity, the way things had been in my previous field of employment....Wishing the best to one and all

Hey Hey..... 43, divorced mom, with 17 yo daughter, 13 yo son, starting LPN at local Vo-tech in Aug. 12 month program so Aug 09 will graduate. Was in EMS (EMT & medic) for about 8 years, but been out of it for the past 4 years. Now a Bartender, and will continue to do so thru L.P.N school. Plan to go on for RN and will more then likely shoot for the E.R. or L&D, although I wouldn't mind working for a VA hospital. Hoping that by the time my son graduates HS, I will be an RN with enough experience to be a travel nurse. So I can just spread my wings and fly in whichever direction I want to go!
Good Luck to all of you!
