Re: 2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

What all types of colleges are you all going to? I'm going to a vocation/private school. It's expensive, but I didn't have to go on a waitlist. My husband is in the military and I didn't want to be on a waitlist forever only to find out we were moving ya know?
I'm in a hospital program. They agree to pay the tuition (not books and uniforms) if you agree to work for them for 2 years. Not too bad of a deal, especially since they also have an RN program with an easy bridge system.

Anyone else hear that at one point or another that the class will start dwindling down?
Yep.. Supposedly next term (which starts this coming Monday) is when things get really tough and people start dropping like flies. I'm a bit nervous about it. The class that graduated ahead of us started with 30 and only 13 actually made it to graduation...

Right now I'm focusing on getting though my finals this week. Nutrition final is done, and I'm fairly certain I finished with an A in the class. we also had to take the CAP test for nutrition yesterday... That test was interesting, to say the least. It's supposedly like the NCLEX, and if that's true, then I totally understand when people post about not feeling like they know anything afterward. The stuff I knew I really knew but then other questions seemed like they came from outer space... lol.

Talking Re: 2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

I'm in a 12 month LPN program. We are on semesters, and take clinicals along with classes all along the way. I'm starting the RN program the semester immediately following my grad from LPN school. I'm a little worried about that because I want time to study for my NCLEX. I'm going to do it, though, and just do my very best and see what happens! This has been my plan of action since applying to LPN school(give it my all and see what happens), and I feel so blessed and grateful with my experience. It's challenging, but I know nursing is for me, and so school is very gratifying.

I don't have children, and not married (boyfriend, but not high maintenance!). I really admire the people who balance families and go to nursing school. I don't know how you do it, but I think so highly of you guys!

Re: 2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

I recently got accepted into a LPN program that starts in July, and I finish next June. I will still have to work while attending school (I'm not independently wealthy), so I know that it will be a hard road, but I know a few LPNs who worked and went to school, so I know it's possible. I wish everyone else who is a member of the class of 2009 the best!

Re: 2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

Hello all! I am 22, long time relationship, no kids, and May 08 grad w/ my Associate in Arts. I work as a CNA at a nursing home and am absolutely in love with the nursing field! I just got my acceptance letter yesterday! I start in August and graduate in June 09. I'm am soooo excited and eager to attend the LPN program. I have been to 2 junior colleges and 1 university and after not being accepted to neither nursing program, I decided to do LPN school so that I can work and then take the bridge to obtain my RN or BSN. I almost gave up hope after I figured that Nursing was such a competitive field but God led me thru it. I took the Entrance test and I failed by 1 percent in math and a high score in reading. I cried when I got the rejection letter but after encouragement from my boyfriend, I took the test again 2 days later and passed! I am so thankful, blessed and excited that I will finally be living out my dream, proving people wrong and giving my family something to be proud about! I am proof that faith works and u should always follow your dreams. Good luck and keep in touch!

The LPN program is 12 months. Then after I work as an LPN for 6 months I can get into their bridge... approx. 10 more months of school and I'll (hopefully!) graduate and be an RN! It's a cool deal. Yeah, I'm signing my life away - so to speak - to one (large) hospital system, but it's going to enable me to do so much for my family and allow me to do what I've always wanted to do. I'm really excited about it.

Re: 2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

Hello Everyone,

I started the LPN program May 5. I'll be finished June 2009. Then I'm going to do a bridge program to become an RN. I can't believe I'm finishing 4 weeks. This has been a lifetime dream. I'm an army wife and mother of 2 children. I'm so excited about becoming a nurse and being able to find work anywhere my husband is sent. MeowTimesTwo that is wonderful that the hospital helps with tuition as you go through the program. I wish I were lucky enough to have a deal like that in my area.

Good Luck to everyone!
