SEIU Threatening Nurses at Home --What you should do if they com,e to your door

SEIU Threatening Nurses at Home --
What You Should Do If They Come to Your Door

Thursday afternoon, CNA/NNOC Board of Directors member Margie Keenan, RN was sitting at home, when she looked up and saw four people staring at her through her front window. The four SEIUers then started yelling her name and chanting epithets through her window. They left before the police arrived.

Margie later learned that SEIU staff had first showed up on her nursing unit without visitors badges, and pressed co-workers in an effort to try to track her down.

Sounds like union wars, maybe thats a good thing, maybe the SEIU will have to get back to representing the heathcare worker and get out of the employers pocket.

A persons home is not a public place.
Four people looking into the window and shouting is frightening.

SEIU supporters have posted threads re similar actions by CNA in Ohio. Both unions playing hardball politics have forgotten this rule: RESPECT FOR OTHERS. This is exactly why THOUSANDS of nurses would never consider joining a union as divide and conquer only placing a wedge in the profession.

This bulletin board WILL NOT be a bully pulpit for ANY organization. Members who chose not to follow our TOS will have membership permanently closed.

Off the soapbox now.

Everyday in Everyway, I choose what I do and in what way I do it. But I choose to go home at night and know I have done right for my pt and myself. That is what counts!!!!!!!!!

Re: SEIU Threatening Nurses at Home --What you should do if they com,e to your door

I was a nurse in Ohio with NNOC and I NEVER intimidated a nurse at home or anywhere else. In fact, I was chased down by SEIU thugs. Similar tactics were NOT used by NNOC in Ohio - 3 nurses in a driveway of a large hospital handing out a flyer is completely different than 4 people showing up at someones home yelling at children and intimidating women.

Please, try to keep a perspective. As for posting items from press release- only CNA/NNOC was aware that SEIU showed up at the home of their members and has the duty to report this dangerous behavior even if the press does not feel that they do.

Re: SEIU Threatening Nurses at Home --What you should do if they com,e to your door

When someone hostile shows up at your house, there are
two inherent messages:
-they are showing that they know where you live
-they've taken the time to do the research to figure out where you live
What happens is, you wonder when they'll be back and what they'll do next.
