Wish me luck!

I'm at a 12-step Round-Up in Miami. All programs are represented here, but primarily AA and NA. Yeah poor me in Miami having fun in the sun. LOL

I'm leading a workshop "Men over 40 in Recovery" and I'm starting to get nervous. I kind of have my thoughts organized, but I'm beginning to hear old tapes in my head "you can't handle it, you're too nervous, you're boring, everyong will hate it........"

Still I think it's good for my recovery to do this, because it's stepping out of my comfort zone. Fortunately from what I've noticed at this roundup there is no shortage of folks that like to talk. Hopefully, I'll get it started and it will lead itself. Fortunately it's a nice warm day and most folks are at the pool.

Wish me luck.

Good Luck Tweety, I'm sure you'll do fine. Whenever I give an AA talk, I get really nervous right before the meeting and it totally goes away within 5 minutes. Besides, I've never seen anyone leading a workshop criticized about the way they led it. I wish I was there (I qualify for the over 40), It sounds like fun.

You'll do GREAT, my friend...........I'm not worried in the least, so don't you be.

Trust that you are the right person, in the right place, at the right time, with the right message.

I'll be thinking about you and wishing you well.

Tweety Bird, you're going to look back on it and wonder what you were so nervous about. You'll do great, I know it!

We had Tony H. speaking at a local round up a few years ago, but that meeting filled up quickly so I didn't get to hear him speak. Darn. I've heard he's got some great stories.

You always sound so confident and competent in your postings here, always right "on the money" (although I realize that's v. different from talking in front of real, live people! ) -- I'm sure you'll be fine! Best wishes! XOXO

Re: Wish me luck!

Thanks for the support.

Unfortunately they double booked leaders. I quickly assessed that the guy that said he was the leader wasn't about to step down for co-lead the meeting with me because he was certain he was the chair. So I readily handed it over and never go to lead the workshop.

Such is life, gotta let go of the things I can not change. LOL

People used to tell me, if I was nervous, it was just God shakin' the truth outta me, LOL!

If you see anyone down there from MAINE - well, smile at 'em.
