I think that this is a much-needed addition to allnurses. While it does add a "few hoops" for people to jump through, I think it is vital that students learn that research data must be collected in a way that conforms to the generally accepted professionals standards.

Brian, I read couple of postings and it seems unfortunatelly that our dears MS students, hardly could do a well done survey.

My point at this moment is if we could do somenthing, to have all theoretical bases to work with, before to build and start a survey. To find people for their survey is a great and generous ideea... as much as the survey is well done...if not is a waste of time for all of us, and un uncomfortable feedback for them.

I've noticed that a lot of people are still posting surveys in the other forums and not using the forum designated for that purpose.

I love the moderators here and do NOT want to be critical ... but I am requesting that they move such threads into this forum when they see them elsewhere.

I agree that the quality of some of the studies is questionable. However, I don't believe that there is any "sticky" that can be designed to guide students in the right path to designing studies (and surveys). That is the responsibility of the academic programs and the student's advisor. There is a lot more to designing a rigorous study and putting together a questionnaire than could be explained in one thread.

I really appreciate this forum and I will be posting my survey for my master's thesis in a few months.
