Penlight

I bought my first penlight today and I feel dumb. I don't know how to turn it on or maybe it is defective. The only way I can see that it could possibly turn it on is pushing where the clip is. But this is not working....any suggestions?

Re: Penlight

That's usually what you do. Is there a little slip of plastic under the clip? If so, remove that and try.

Re: Penlight

It looks like plastic under the clip but its inside. How would I go about removing it?

Re: Penlight

Have you checked to see if it has batteries? They don't all come with batteries already inside.

Yes, I can see the battery through the top of it.

Re: Penlight

You might want to take it back, and get a new one. I always test mine when I buy them, after getting a dead one once.

Re: Penlight

Yeah I think it is dead. I bought it at the school in a kit with bandage scissors and other stuff we need starting Foundations. I will take it back to the bookstore. Thanks all for the advice.

If you haven't returned it yet, just get a refund when you do. Then go and pick up an LED mini at your local hardware store. This is it: http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...Id=18218833503

It is far superior to the EMS style penlight in general use.

Re: Penlight

The batteries could be old or defective. The bulb might be defective. Another way to turn some of these on is to press the end of the light opposite of the bulb - try to push it in like a click pen.
