Carrying It All - Fanny Packs ?

I get called from one end of the building to the other. I always have my cell phone in a pocket, but often I find I need my steth, bp cuff, or flashlight.

Sure I can put them on the cart, but often I am not working a cart when I go to the other end, without passing the office where my stuff is stashed.

I have looked for white EMT pants (none) and fanny packs (no comment).

What do you use to carry stuff on you?

Re: Carrying It All - Fanny Packs ?

I could not bring myself to wear a fanny pack. I carry lots of stuff in my landau scrub tops with 2 double pockets each.

Cool Re: Carrying It All - Fanny Packs ?

No fanny pack!! I use the Nurse Pro Pack...i love it...and it wears good. especially for us dudes. I like the way it looked on our navy blue scrubs cause i wouldn't be caught dea with a fanny pack.

I used a fanny pack in school and many years ago but stopped. There is a website that sells the emt pants with a million pockets. I forget the name of the company. They are located in southern CA.

I used (and LOVED) the nurse pro pack before I transferred to L&D. I worked step-down, and it had enough pockets for everything I needed through most of the day. 2 big pockets for my 'scope, phone and pda, plenty of room for a handful of saline flushes, alcohol wipes, 2x2s, pens, loops to hold my scissors, hemastats and pens. It was quite nice to not have to run back and forth for the 'little' stuff that can be so important

Check out Lesportsac online... they have updated the traditional fanny pack with lots of colors & styles. Also try the company Dakine, they make fanny packs that are also colorful & fun. If you don't need to carry a lot of stuff smart scrubs online has a great little hip pack called a scrubpoc that works well. Good luck.

I think I would get laughed at if I came to work wearing a fanny pack!

I try to carry only what I need. I always carry a ballpoint pen, a sharpie, a pair of hemostats, chapstick, a few mints, a few bucks, and my cellphone with me. I can manage to fit it all in my pockets.

Try the scrub pants with side pockets. They are perfect for fitting a stethoscope. You can carry your cell phone in your pocket. I usually get roomy enough scrubs to tote around all the stuff I need (without the hideous fanny pack!).
