I have to buy a BP cuff for my program. Can you recommend where to purchase this and what type to get. All I was told was to get Adult size BP cuff

I bought mine at the same store I bought my uniforms at. I wouldn't think it would matter what type it is; the store as I was only had one kind and it works well for me to practice with.

Go to a drug store or medical supply store and just buy a cheap one, cause you will not need to have your own once you graduate.

I agree with Swtooth. Buy a cheap one or see if you can just borrow someone elses. I have only used mine a handful of times (mainly just when we were learning vitals) so I wish I hadn't spent the money on one and just borrowed from someone else. ~madampomfrey

They told me to buy one but I have not used it at all GRRRRR. I agree buy a supercheap one!

You can find various kinds at various prices in any pharmacy. They are also available from the uniform stores, online, and in their catalogs. I wouldn't pay a lot of money for one for school, as it might get misplaced. I spent $100 for my personal one to monitor my own BP. Got cheaper ones to use for work.

not sure if you are still looking at this thread or not, but ai purchased a cuff about 2 yrs ago and it is still going strong. I bought an economy model then for about $16 through Galls (www.galls.com) and now it sells for about $16-19 i think. An expensive cuff isn't needed especially since the facility you work at will have their own.

Yeah, I used mine about twice. In my area, you can NOT get them at pharmacies or Target/Walmart - I tried several. They sell cuffs, but not manual ones. The pharmacist at one of them directed me to a medical supply store nearby, and I paid about $25.

Why on earth would someone need thier own BP cuff for as part of thier education! Are you going to be doing clinicals in the alley behind the school? But.. if that is what is required- WALLMART in my area has a nice selection of user friendly cuffs. The less you spend the better - Whats next- please buy a hospital bed and a ventillator since you are doing critical care next term-oh by the way L&D next summer- be sure to come pregnant!? I must be too old to post to student nursing forums- I'm out of date.
