'White' Crocs?? ComfortClogs

Does anyone know if the 'pearl' colored Crocs are 'white' enough to be white uniform shoes? I looked at a pair last week and they seem gray. I'll be starting my clinicals in September and don't want to start off on the wrong foot, so to speak. Allheart has some similar type shoes ('ComfortClogs', super cheap, too), but they don't have a back strap, which I'm thinking some hospitals may require. Thanks!

Re: 'White' Crocs??

Most nursing schools I know of do not allow the students to wear clogs (even with a backstrap).

Check your clinical uniform requirements. I wore clogs all the way through nursing school. I wear comfort clogs now.....and I LOVE them. One piece of advice....don't wear any shoes with holes in the tops of them! "STUFF" tends to end up on the tops of your shoes!!

Good Luck to you!!!

We are allowed to wear anything white, as long as it's okay with the hospital we are working in.

rninme -- Yes, I am looking at the pairs that don't have holes in the top! Which ComfortClogs do you have? The ones with or without the insert?

Perhaps the nursing schools down here are more conservative. When I was in LPN school, they told us absolutely no clogs, when I was going to go to Baptist Hospital nursing school in Little Rock, AR, the rules were no clogs, when I went through Excelsior clinicals the rules were no clogs (though EC is based in NY).

I'd like to know more about ComfortClogs, though. I'm a fan of clogs myself, especially since I have gotten so fat it's too hard to tie my shoes, anymore. I have a pair of real Crocs and two pair of fake ones, and to tell the truth, I like the fake ones better. They are more cushiony and not as hot on my feet.

I have 2 kinds of comfort clogs....both with the inserts. The ones without holes in the sides...can make your feet sweat after a long night....but my feet have never hurt!! The ones with the "side-vents" are much cooler than the regular ones. But hey!!! You just can't beat the price....woooohooo!! I've worn some very expensive "nursing shoes" that were like torture chambers to my feet....nothing worse than a long nite spent running your butt off and having to crawl to your car because your feet hurt so bad!! Oh....and I ordered an extra pair of inserts for each pair of shoes...they were an experiment and I wasn't sure how comfortable they would be...how long the inserts would last at that price, etc. Well, I've worn the same pair of shoes with the same inserts for the past 3 months...haven't had a problem yet!!! Now the majority of nurses where I work have ordered a pair or 2 for themselves.

We were allowed clogs, but not Crocs.

I know some students who wear the pearl with a white uniform. They look to0 gray for me though. I wish Croc's made white!

I am a senior nursing student, and we were told not to get clogs (w or w/o a strap). I wear a pair of all white Sketchers; they are comfortable.
