Z-coils all the way baby!! I wear mine all the time, work or not. I have flat feet and between the customization of the orthotic and some added arch support my feet are doing very well. In fact, they've never been better, even when I was wearing custom orthotic inserts. The Z's are expensive, 215 after tax but I have to say they're worth every penny and more. My custom orthotics were about the same price and didn't do as well for my feet even when put in very good shoes.
As for skechers, they just don't fit my feet right but for some they are great. With my feet problems, Crocs are a crock. There are a couple of folks who had been wearing them and began having problems and visited an podiatrist who told them their problems were related to the shoes they were wearing. They've since gotten better shoes and the problems have disappeared. I've not paid attention to what shoes they are wearing now though.
Prior to getting Z's, I found that New Balance and Avia made shoes that worked very well for me, in combination with my custom orthotics.
i wear birkenstocks!! i love them, they mold to your feet after a few weeks, and then it's like someone made them just for you, can't live without them!!!
Crocs all the way, forgot mine one day and had to wear my walking shoes talk about aching legs. cant wear the closed ones way too hot but good for wet and cold days. one place i wk at wont allow clogs so we found crocs that look like the ll bean winter shoes with leather around the ankles. used to wear new balance but they changed the style again and not as comfortable. nofeargear.com or crocs.com and read how to size crocs which is important.
