Re: Shoes...what do you wear?

I was wearing Crocs (the kind that are closed on top, with vent holes on the side) over the summer, and found that my feet and legs were achy after a few shifts in a row. I have been wearing Danskos ever since (professional black cabrio) and I love them! They took a shift or two to break in, but I can work a few nights in a row without pain. The only complaint I have about them is that because they have a higher heel than my other shoes (Crocs or sneakers), sometimes my scrubs look like highwaters.

Re: Shoes...what do you wear?

This is kinda odd, but one of the nurses on my floor has plantar fasciitis and changes between two pairs of shoes all day.

Re: Shoes...what do you wear?

So I decided to try out danskos, hopefully my feet will thank me more than my bank account did... Thanks for the tip about the pants, but I'm only 5'0" - I don't think any pair of pants has ever looked liked high-waters on me...lol...
I'll let y'all know how the danskos go - I've heard they take some getting used to.

Definitely give them more than a shift to get used to!

Re: Shoes...what do you wear?

I wear street clothes to work now - aside from my PRN job, and bought a pair of Earth Shoes for work 2 years ago. I wear them several times a week and they are so comfortable and my feet, back and hips do not hurt. Expensive but well work the $$$. The leather has held up very well - 3rd winter and they look like new. I had a pair years ago - popular in the 70s and wore them out.

Or maybe I'll try filleting a pair of dr. scholls insoles from the grocery store.
I have that problem, eventually, with all my shoes - pigeon-toed-ness. I have to consciously turn my feet straight while walking. When we lay down, my husband's feet go \ / and mine go / \ .
