MY FEET HURT Shoe question

This may seem silly...but what kind of shoes have you found do your feet some justice after working 12 hour shifts?
My shoes seem to break down after a month or so. I have tried Easy Spirit..NIKE...Avia..Brooks...New Balance...
Has anyone tried Z Coil?
Ive found that if you dont have the right shoes..your back..legs..everything HURTS!
Do any of you wear support hose as well? Im not use to these longggg hours...<sigh> Thanks!

I Love Comfort from Sears has my vote. Surprise the heck out of me these shoes were so comfortable and stopped my feet and leg pain after 12 hr shifts.

I find that wearing one pair for six hours, then switching to a different pair helps. Also Dr. Scholl's arch inserts help me. I do wear three different pairs of New Balance and one pair of Rocker's, just whichever, and whenever I decide.

Hey Banana
I use "Crocs" They're the new craze the the hospital where I work. Docs, nurses and aides have em. They come in different colors. I've seen them sold at small boutiques. I got mine as a gift, so not sure if any major department stores carry them.
They are sooooo comfortable, even after three twelves in a row. Kinda feels like walking on air.
oh, and they don't stink!!!

I personally love my Anywheres. I have had one pair for about 4 years or longer. I have nearly worn the nubs off the heels. I have a couple of other pairs of them.
Previously I had tried Nike, Reeboks, etc. It just seemed like in no time I had lost all of the cushion out of them and my back would kill me at the end of 12 hours as would my feet.
I see many people wearing those clogs with the air holes in them, but with what I see on my shoes at the end of the day I sure don't want that mess on my socks.
I have had some friends get the z-coils and they swear by them.

It's Birkenstocks all the way for me and the DW. Good luck - good work shoes can be hard to find - it seems that everyone is different.

Crocs has at least one style (Highland) that doesn't have the airholes. Payless has a clog (that DOES have airholes) that is about one third the price of Crocs and looks much the same. Some time this fall, they are supposed to get them in in white. Oh, and you might try eBay for Crocs. They don't often have them in my size and color but I do see a lot of listings.

I have a couple of pairs of fairly inexpensive Dr. Scholl's gel sole shoes from Wal-Mart. They give decent support and at $23, I can replace them when they start breaking down.

Dansko clogs. It's all I wear at work and no foot pain. I have a high arch so need firm support. Nothing squishy for me.
