I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one tripping over "floor snakes" LOL
I have the most comfortable nurse mate clogs. But the have no backstrap and are soooooooooooooo slippery. Not on the floor slippery, but my foot inside slippery. I actually slipped over the side of them, and twisted my ankle pretty harshly. I'm embarrased to admit this. Also, I cannot walk very fast if I need to get somewhere. If only they had a strap.

I like New Balance walking shoes. I haven't tripped.

I don't recall anyone saying it wasn't OK not to wear Crocs. Wear whatever is comfortable for your feet and conforms to your hospital uniform policy. No big deal.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I havent experienced the "croc stop" before. I love love love my crocs. The are the most comfy shoe out there. I recently got diagnosed with plantar fascitis and my Doc banned me from wearing them. I got some Danskos and although they are comfy and elevate my heel like they should, I still prefer the Crocs.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I had a pair of nursing shoes that did that. The were not crocs but they had some sort of non skid tread on them that sent me flying a couple of times. The hospital was the only place it happened. I think it had something to do with the wax on the floor in the hospital. I had no problem with them anywhere else but in the hospital. I remember wrenching my back and having a very sore back for couple of days on kind of those shoes. They are sitting on a shelf unused.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I had a double play the other day! Did the croc stop just outside a room, was recovering, and then the other foot hit a wet patch on the floor. I flew into the room on my hands and knees, thanking my lucky stars there was no patient in there to witness my coordination!

(I'm convinced one of my legs is longer than the other)

I haven't caused myself any serious injury, other than maybe some mild embarrassment, but I may have just been lucky enough not to have a serious fall.

I recently purchased a pair of Dansko clogs - no tripping anymore. Not as comfy as my Crocs, but no tripping...
Far better arch supports, though. Better for your feet, knees and back -- and no tripping!

Yep! I trip all the time!
I think it's those floors tho, 'cuz I do it in sneakers as well...to me, the croc stop is worth it because of the comfort..lucky you didn't get hurt though!

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I have had the same problem. I have been stop short wearing my crocs and almost fell over. I stopped wearing them at work and went back to my Nikes. Even though I really like my Crocs.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I've worn CROCS for several years now and I've noticed that every time I buy a new pair is when this happens for me. In my experience, once I have them "broke in" I don't do that anymore.
