I've done that in stockings, sneakers, you name it.

A klutz is a klutz is a klutz.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

I too have experienced the croc stop but not to a point where I could injure myself. I also wear Danskos regularly and my "trips" with them occur differently. I have a tendency to fall on the side of my foot. I find that more painful and a higher potential for hurting myself than the when I where my crocs.

LMAO @ "Croc stop". I'm going to have to use that one.

It's so common on our floor people don't even blink when a Croc wearer trips. I do it all the time. As a PP said, the positives of comfort outweigh the negative.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

Well I'm sorta surprised that no one else here has given Up their Crocs because of this tripping. Its the plastic in the shoe that just Stops you dead if you drag your foot a bit.
Yeah I think I do walk lazy..I work nights lol. Nothing I can do about that. I think maybe I should buy another brand of the plastic clog type shoes...some that are differant plastic.

I DID hit the floor and now that I'm home I'm aching like a dog.
Yeah they filled out a report. It hurt and I'm Not 20 yrs old lol.
3 other nurses worked with me last night that had on Crocs and they all said they trip all the time too...
So keep sharing your storys while I decide what to do about this. I sure don't want to break a wrist. Lucky for me I somehow ended up turning sideways and landing on my tosh.

Yup.........me too.

Isn't it fun when your foot comes to an abrupt stop, but the rest of you continues in the original direction at the original velocity? Happens to me all the time, no matter WHAT I have on my feet. Crocs tend to create this exciting event more often than other shoes, but they're still worth the risk for me---I love my comfort!!

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

Well I would of agreed until I fell last night. Now I'm wondering if its worth it.

Yes they are the most comfie shoes I've worn to work.

No I don't want to fall again...

I don't wear Crocs. It is ok not to wear Crocs.

I like New Balance walking shoes. I haven't tripped.

I do the same thing and it is always when I am tired, too!!! I always get a kick out of it.

This happened on Thursday night, but then I'm a klutz and I trip over my own feet barefoot. I think I was just born klutzy and it's not the shoes.

Re: My CROCS made me fall tonight..

My hospital just banned Crocs and "Crocs type shoes" due to liability. Not only because of tripping over your shoes, but also due to slipping risk on wet floors being increased if the tread is worn. I'm not sure if this includes clogs such as Danskos, but I'd be willing to bet they'll add that soon, too..sigh
