I bought Dannsko clogs for school, and about 4 hours into the clinical day my feet hurt so bad I can't stand it! I have been wearing them since January, for one day a week in clinical. Someone told me that they are really comfortable but mine were not broken in yet. My feet hurt from the arch back to the heel. The shoe feels really hard. Anyone have any advice for some super comfy shoes? We have to wear Nursing shoes, no tennis shoes. Thanks, Tina

Well, I'm not sure if these classify as "nursing shoes" but I have a pair of Crocs, in the pearl white. I wear them 36 hours per week at work and then another 12 hours a week at clinicals and they are the single best shoes on the planet for my back, legs and every other single part of my body.

I found Merrell shoes offer the best support. Look for the nursing shoes at Lydias.com.

I also have an expensive pair of Dansko's collecting dust in the corner. They were too hard for me too, but then my sister turned me on to Merrell's, and I have been floating on a cloud ever since. I have several pair now for all occasions, beach etc. They cured me from heel pain too (plantar fascitis). You can find them at www.shoebuy.com.

Have you every worn Birkenstocks? I too don' have much of an arch in my foot so the arch in my Birks hurt a bit but after about 2 weeks worth of wear they mold to every contour of my foot and they feel awesome. They can be a bit pricey, but to me they're worth it. I haven't tried the "nursing" style shoe. I just have the sandals, but the soles are built the same.

HUGE 2nd on the Crocs! They are the most comfy shoe ever created! (IMO) Sizing is a bit wonky, but they are like walking on pillows!

Ditto on the Danskos. What a disappointment. Currently I'm wearing a pair of lightweight New Balance. So far, they're the best I've experienced but I'm hoping there's better out there. I'm thinking of going custom orthopedic.

How do the sizes run on the crocs? I am between a 7 - 7 1/2 and sometimes wide.
I was looking at them and I can't wear them at school (no clogs allowed!) but I CAN wear them for work. I was looking at the Highland type since its closed. This is silly but you DO wear socks with them, right?

you can wear em with or without socks!. You would wear prolly a size medium...but check out the size chart on the Crocs webpage!
