I had that same issue when i was in school and i just bought a pair of white nikes that worked fine. When those wore out i just bought whatever color shoes i wanted and just told my profs. that it was impossible to find mens white nursing shoes and they all understood for the most part or just didnt care.

I'm a firm believer in Nike Shox myself. They're expensive (most of the good shoes are) but I put my orthotics in (I have plantar fasciitis) and I'm good to go.
