Does anyone wear MBT shoes?

I just read an article in the Miami Herald about these shoes. The reporter wore them for 1 month and wrote an article for each week. They help reduce cellulite --She lost 1" from each of her thighs!!!! Yep! One month and she lost 1" on one thigh and more than 1" on the other! Says her pants are fitting her better . They also help with posture and backache.

The huge drawback is the pricetag $250!!!!
They are kind of funky looking, with a rocker type bottom. I think I will go try on a pair and see how they feel..

Anyway, I would love to hear about anyone's experiences with these.

I checked out their website.... www.mbt-info.com
Very interesting..

Re: Does anyone wear MBT shoes?

keep me posted. I'd be interested in it too.

Looks like they'd be more tireing, and I could use more exercise

I could buy a whole lot of Rockports for $250. Why did you ask? Does limiting cellulite fall under nursing strides?

MY aunt bought me a pair when I started school. They are pretty weird looking, but the white ones are okay under my scrubs. They are super comfy, especially when standing for long hours. They don't run very wide though.

How on earth could shoes reduce cellulite? The only thing that reduces cellulite is losing fat through diet and exercise. What a load of... marketing.

Re: Does anyone wear MBT shoes?

i have thought about buying a pair of those MBT shoes. I did get the dvd that tells about the technology of the shoe and how the shoe works to help with weight loss.
Wearing the shoe and walking a mile is supposed to be the equivalent of walking 3 miles in sand. It has something to do with the way you have to support yourself in the rocker bottom and helps to reduce cellulite because of the walking in sand type exercise and also helps to firm your core muscles too.
I spoke with a saleslady and she recommeds wearing the shoes for a couple of hours each day until you build up to wearing them longer.
She said that she started wearing the shoes and went from a size 14 to size 8 changing nothing but her shoes because of the workout you get in them.
So i guess it's worth a try ,I have wasted more than 250.00 on other useless claims and I did try the shoe on and it is comfortable. They also make a sandal.

Yeah, I guess it causes your body to compensate all the time because you have to use all those little muscles to keep you balanced, and you don't fatigue standing for long periods of time because you can lean your feet up, down, left, right to distribute the work.

I believe they could work... Like I said, they would make you work harder, and they'd be easier on your joints. If you even change your exersise routine and not your diet, you still can lose weight...now how much? That all depends.

Re: Does anyone wear MBT shoes?

Hi, I was also looking at those shoes, too. I am a pre-nursing student, I will be starting in January!! wAH-HOO!! And, I was looking for a comfortable shoe. When I went on vacation this last summer with my boyfriend, we walked so much and both of our arches and heels hurt-most of the walking was on concrete, asphalt and brick/cobblestone. I am seriously thinking about buying them. For those who did purchase a pair, do you really feel a noticable difference? Please give us your opinion if you had foot pain and now it has diminished..thanks.

Here is the thread for the article I mentioned.........

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald...h/15602330.htm

I have to admit I am a huge cynic (sp?) when it comes to pretty much anything. That is why I thought I would post here, to see if anyone has had similar results to the newspaper reporter.

My back and feet are always aching and IF I had any cellulite (which of course, I don't) !!!!, losing some fat and dimples and not having a sore back and burning feet would be win-win.
