I started a thread a few months back...I find that the Specialist model of Crocs(the one they made specifically for those in healthcare) has not caused Croc stop. Haven't had one after 2 months. They even have holes on the strap(they have closed footbeds) so I can still wear Jibbitz. Yesterday, I bought a pair of New England Patriots crocs..they make them for all the teams and for baseball too. I'm getting the Red Sox ones in the spring. The strap has the logo on it and the footbeds are the ones with the holes. I have the Mammoth model also-yes, I'm a Croc addict and have the problem free feet to prove it!

A coworker recommended placing a piece of tape (plastic tape) towards the toe on the bottom of each of my crocs to prevent Croc Stop. It actually works well but my Crocs are Pearl colored and the tape quickly turns a nasty black which looks cruddy if you look at the bottom of your shoe. I usually only notice it when I'm on the phone waiting to give report but it still bothers me seeing it. I just change the tape frequently between washings but I'm curious to try the new Crocs for Professionals since another poster remarked that they don't give you the dreaded sudden stop. I noticed the even newest version of Crocs for nurses have closed heels in addition to the closed toes and they conform to your foot similar to how Danskos do. I also notice they have extra tread gripping toward the toe. I would think that would make Croc Stop even worse. Has anyone tried any of the new designs listed on this website below? I don't remember the Professional Crocs having the toe tread. They aren't listed in this link:

I always said I would NEVER wear Crocs. Last summer I tried on my niece's and haven't worn my Dansko or Adida's since. My current favorite is my new sheepskin lined ones. I don't wear them to work, but I wear them everywhere else.
I love the air vents and being able to kick them off whenever I want to. The only downside is the dreaded croc-stop!

For all you people that get the croc stop you need to learn the croc walk and then you won't have the croc stop.

But I forget the croc walk...! I usually only do the croc stop when I'm relaying very important information to a Dr or my boss~!!!

I love my Crocs but not at work. I was wearing them out way too quickly. The tread on the bottom would be gone within three months. Plus, I found out the hard way that a dropped needle will get stuck in the shoe (I only wore the closed version).

Now I wear Birkenstock clogs. It's got the classic Birkenstock foot bed but it can be removed and the shoe autoclaved if need be. Why you would "need" to autoclave the shoe is beyond me but at least I know it can be washed in hot water! They are harder than Crocs so a needle would bounce off the shoe rather than get stuck in it

I noticed that AFTER I made my post, my bad, lol. I plan to get a pair of those. They look like that have better arch support also. Thanks for the feedback.

I only wear Birks period now. I got the white Boston and ordered the high-arch model for knicking around. ALL of my foot problems disappeared since I made the switch to Briks.

Next is a long, grey braid and hand-knitted striped socks.
