What is "Nurse equipment"?

"Are Crocs good for Nursing?" . .. .well, if you like them, then yes.

I don't like them. So for me the answer is "no".

I wear New Balance sneakers and I look for them on sale. I refuse to pay full price for any shoe.

Re: Are Crocs good for Nursing

I absolutely love mine. Shortly after I started Nursing, I developed terrible Plantar Fasciitis. I received numerous cortisone injections and started wearing ANYWEARZ (cute and comfortable slip-on clogs) instead of tennis shoes. The chronic pain in my feet improved a lot. Now I wear CROCS. The width of CROCS gives my poor feet room because my feet swell so much. I know some hospitals do not allow CROCS because of the holes, but CROCS produces other styles that do not have the holes in them.

Crocs Whore here! I have 8 pairs which range from the functional Pearl to my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean ones... I don't wear regular shoes anymore and my feet stopped hurting after the first night I wore them.

Re: Are Crocs good for Nursing

I wear Crocs at work. They're very comfortable on my feet.

One of the lab techs I work with has had problems with her legs becoming discolored but I'm not sure if it's PVD and she said since she has started wearing the crocs the coloration has gotten better in her legs.

I have a pair of crocs that I don't wear to work. Actually my daughter and I have matching crocs. I let her pick out the jibbitz for her shoes and I got myself the RN jibbitz for my non-work crocs.

I have never had more comfortable shoes in my life! They are so easy to clean up, too, if you spill anything on them. I've washed them at home in the washing machine with bleach to get them disinfected. My original pair are 2 1/2 years old and still as comfy as the day I bought them.

I LOVE CROCS!

Re: Are Crocs good for Nursing

Crocs made it possible for me to survive my last six months of hospital nursing. I still wear 'em to this day, although I prefer the closed style since they're a bit dressier (and keep my feet dry when it rains). I wear an old pair whenever I work in the garden---there's nothing better than Crocs when you're mucking out flowerbeds or turning the compost pile!

I also like them because I am terribly hard on shoes and have to replace them pretty frequently, so Crocs provide a cheap and comfy alternative to more traditional shoes. (I can't wear heels or flat shoes with no padding or support......they make my back and knees ache ferociously.) In addition, they come in lots of fun colors, which is great in the summertime when I like to match my shoes to my bright, warm-weather clothes. And all you have to do when they get grubby is put 'em on the front porch and hose 'em down! What's NOT to like?

Re: Are Crocs good for Nursing

I like them because they are not only comfortable for the feet, it seems I also tend to have less back pain when I have them on.

As far as spilling something on them, well I have had a major spill on regular white sneakers, and guess what ! I had to change into my spare pair because the liquid I spilled ( dumped over PTs urinal he had set on floor beside the bed), leaked in anyway. So as far as the leaking problem its always good to have a spare in your locker !

Now the "Croc Stop" is something to watch out for, I agree!

Yeah.........I just hate it when you're going somewhere in a hurry and the Croc Stop happens, causing one foot to stop short while the rest of you (and whatever you might be carrying) continues in the original direction at the original velocity~

I was wearing leather nursing shoes and dropped a used syringe that went thru the airvent.
