Crocs Brand Shoes

I did a search on Crocs to see if this has already been discussed and I merely received a message saying I'd need to wait 20 seconds to try again, so I assume not.

I just bought my first pair of Crocs shoes yesterday, will try them out tomorrow. Anyone have any experience with this brand of shoes? Are they as great as I hear?

I liked lots of the sales points about the shoes but I wonder if it is actually true or not. My sis swears by them but after looking at them they look like cheap plastic, yet the few folks I have talked to about them have absolutely nothing bad to say.

Any personal experiences with this brand of shoe?

I wear them. No arthritis pain in my feet anymore.

Re: Crocs Brand Shoes

I recently bought some and love them. I have rather wide feet and a high instep, so have never been able to wear any other type of nursing clogs. It did take me 3-4 shifts of wearing them to totally feel at home in them, perhaps because they were different or maybe they just had to stretch and/or mold to my feet. I definitely will never go back to my former shoes!!
My feet and legs do not hurt now after work. I can remember in times past sometimes my feet hurting so bad that I could not get to sleep.

Another really nice plus is that after the worst messes imaginable over the past few weeks that my feet have gotten into and have had sprayed on them, all I have to do is hose them off and wipe down with disinfectant. Nike can't make that claim!

And apparently they are all the fashion rage too. Imagine that! My 15-year old daughter wants a pair to "start the trend" at her school.
As for me, as long as my feet feel good I dont care what they look like.

Re: Crocs Brand Shoes

I started a thread on Crocs about a month or so ago........I love mine, and won't wear anything else to work anymore. My foot and leg pain have virtually disappeared since I started wearing them, and that's saying a lot for a little $35 pair of shoes. I have two pairs, which I switch off every week because I tend to walk on the outsides of my heels and ruin my shoes. Now, after walking around the streets of Seattle all weekend, I realize I need to buy a couple pair just for walking.......I wore my sneakers, and my feet & legs are swollen and aching like crazy!!

Yep, it's Crocs for me!!

Wow... I guess they are good then. I like the fact that regardless of color you are supposed to be able to use bleach on them. I bought a pair without holes (Aspen, I believe) but I want the kind with holes and if I like them as well as others, and I'm sure I will, I want a pair of Islanders.

Did everyone size them according to the website? There is supposed to be something like 1/4-1/2 inch of space all the way around your foot, IOW, your foot isn't supposed to touch the sides of the shoes.

Re: Crocs Brand Shoes

I guess I am one of the few that can't wear Crocs when I work. They feel great.... so light.... it's like you are walking around in your socks. However, they don't provide the support that I need. It's like I am walking around flat footed. There's just not enough between my foot and the floor...if that makes sense.
Around this area of the country, they are a fashion thing. You see EVERYONE wearing them out and about....from older folks to little kids.

It never used to bother me walking around 12 hours a day but the older I get... Now it is starting to bother me. My ankles are turning into little old lady ankles and anymore swelling and my ankles will hang over my shoes!

Hopefully this will resolve the problem.

There is a very good thread about crocks, just type in "I love my crocs". Wait until the paige downloads before you do anything, if you don't it will tell you to wait 20 sec. I think you will like that thread.

I loved my crocs and hated them too. On the plus side my feet and legs didn't hurt after a 12 hr. shift. But, for some reason, maybe just the way I walk, the shoe on my right foot rubbed against my inner foot. I'm going to give them another chance though.

I did a search for "I love my crocs" and received a ton of hits. Geeeez! Maybe I spelled Crocs wrong the first time?? LOL

I read the entire thread. One issue I noticed is that lots of people said they wanted to wear them but couldn't wear open back shoes. (clog style) I believe the Islander takes care of that problem. If I like my current pair, I'm going to order Islanders.
