Crocs!

I just got a pair not long ago-a gamble though I must say. How they heck are they so good!?
I have Plantar Faciitis-I had Berkies which were so much better than my tennis shoes but man, my heels would hurt so bad, seriously, a 10/10 on that pain scale! Nothing seemed to help. I did the stretching, the ice, everything. Finally, I was just fed up with it. I even put padding in the heels. Didn't help. On a whim, I bought the crocs. I got the kind that don't have holes in them. Immediately my heels quit hurting. Now, my knees seemed to hurt more though-over a week or so, the knees quit hurting and NOW I feel wonderful. No more heel pain! I don't wake up in the am hobbling around like I am 90-I am so dumbfounded as to how they work and why they are so much better than the birkies. I feel bad though, My mom bought the birkies for me and I have no reason to wear them again.
I am 28 with some injuries and issues that add to my over all discomfort. I had bilat knee hyperextension when I was a Highschool cheerleader which is now arthritis. I have had a fusion of my lumbar spine too.
Simply amazed. BUT< I got a size too small so I can't use the darn STRAP!!!!!

Re: Crocs!

I have three pairs of imitation Crocs that I purchased at Target for $9.99 per pair and I absolutely love them for the comfort and ease that they provide. I work 16-hour double shifts and am able to wear my cheapie imitation Crocs for the entirety of the 16-hour shift without any pain or cramping whatsoever.

Re: Crocs!

just curious, did you find you had to buy them a size bigger than your regular shoe size? i tried them on both ways- with and without the strap, and i don't like the feeling of my toes touching then end of the shoe.

i haven't bought them yet, just wondering ahead of time if the next size up fixes this problem. ???

glad your shoes and your heels are better!!

Re: Crocs!

I bet the next size up might be too big. I read somewhere (I think it was the crocs website) that you can lengthen the straps by holding the middle and pulling your fingers down the strap stretching it as you go. My toes touched in mine when I first got them but after a few days it was like they stretched out a bit. I don't usually wear the strap, I just fold it up over the top of my foot.

I love my crocs!

BTW have you seen all the new styles on the website (crocs.com)? They even have a mary jane style now!

Re: Crocs!

The facility I work at just banned them - the corporation says that they are a greater fall risk of sliding in urine, etc.
I think that's bogus, personally - I've tried to slide with mine on a wet floor, and they aren't any worse than other shoes.

Re: Crocs!

AMEN!! My sentiments exactly!! I too have plantar facitis and just bought some crocs. My heels were burning in my NIKES and no heel burning in my crocs. I do have achy leg pain in thighs and calves since I bought them. I do hope it goes away cause man I am sold on these shoes. (I just ordered another pair today hehe.)

Re: Crocs!

Crocs have totally cured my plantar hell. I started wearing them after I spent $130 on New Balance running shoes recommended by podiatrist. Since I started wearing the crocs, within 2 weeks the pain was GONE. Never knew that rubber shoes could work such miracles.

I don't understand the slip ban on the shoes. If anything, I get STUCK more. I am forever catching on the floor with my right foot. Others that I work with do the same.

I am glad others have found the same relief..I thought I was just nuts.

Re: Crocs!

I actually didn't get Plantar Faciitis until I started wearing Crocs. Wearing an insert helps though.

Re: Crocs!

I loved my Crocs and was able to work 8h shifts whithout feeling the slightest pain in my legs or knees. However, some time after I started wearing them, I got plantar fasciatis. Are they the cause? The guy who had to make my orthotics and my physiotherapist think so...
