Comfortable Shoes

Hello Everyone!!

I was wondering if you lovely beings could suggest a comfortable pair of shoes to wear. I feel like after walking all day, I am walking on nubs! I want to be in the nursing field for a long time and can't afford to wear my feet out after one year.

Anything??

Re: Comfortable Shoes

Moved to the Nursing Footwear forum.

My personal favorites are New Balance and SAS.

Re: Comfortable Shoes

I have weak ankles and edema to my feet and ankles so the lighter the shoe and more cushion between the floor and my feet were recommended by my Dr. I love crocs. They have the sole I look for and they feel light as anything out there.

Re: Comfortable Shoes

For me, it's been either Nike Shox or New Balance 608s.

Re: Comfortable Shoes

I've just discovered Naot, an Isreali brand - they're easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They come with a removable support pad which contours itself to the shape of your foot and that you can replace with orthotics if required. I can feel my posture improve and my knees aren't achy. The shoes are light but supportive, and I haven't needed to break them in, which is fantastic. I liked them so much (and I hate buying shoes) that I bought four pairs in three days - black lace up shoes, brown ankle boots, navy slip ons (that I'm wearing as I type), and pistachio leather sandals. They look good and they feel fantastic!

Wink Re: Comfortable Shoes

Believe it or not, my friends and I discovered inexpensive comfortable shoes at the Mervyn's shoe dept many years ago and began to wear them. However, Mervyn's stopped selling the white shoes after a time. Otherwise, I prefer SAS shoes when I splurge on the real thing. I have been buying the cheap white walking shoes or sports shoes at Payless. Since they don't hurt my feet, I find they're ok for me and my wallet.
