They make "Professional" Crocs that don't have holes in the top.

Re: Best shoes ever?

I have a very bad knee and plantar fascitis. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying different shoes. Had the best luck with Nike air max 360. They cost 175 and I'm glad I spent it.
Also look at Z-Coil shoes on the internet, very expensive, very weird looking but very wonderful. It also helps to change your shoes half way through your shift, but I haven't had to do that with the max 360s. A comfortable pair of shoes is worth it's weight in gold.

Re: Best shoes ever?

Crocs!!! These are the best shoes. I have spent so much money trying to find shoes the wouldn't kill my feet. I work 12 hour shifts and most shoes were fine for about the first 8 hours then just kill my feet. Crocs are cheap in comparision to most shoes, and are very comfy. Airwalk have a shoe that is also very similar to Crocs that are also very comfy. Airwalk come in tie-dyed colors too

Z-coils. They are expensive, but aren't your feet worth it?

Re: Best shoes ever?

day shifts i wear saucony with my orthotics. nights i wear crocs. we aren't supposed to wear them because of wcb (compo) regulations. not because of the holes in the top (i have them with and without), but because there is no heel, only a strap. so no clogs, or slingback shoes are supposed to be worn.

our hospital has banned all shoes with holes in the top because they have decided they are against the infection control policy. I love my crocs and hated to see them go, they are truly the one shoe I have worn that has not caused my back to hurt

I have worn Birks and Merrells and actually love them both--I do think my Merrells are more comfortable though! I haven't tried New Balance but a couple of my co-workers swear by them.

After investing lots of dollars, Birkenstock are my favorites. I love the Tatami brand under Birkenstock also.

Danskos made me trip and fall my very first day as a nurse! I never wore them again......I have the wooden blocks opinion on them.

I wear Crocs at home. They don't have enough arch support for me to wear to work for a 12+ hour shift.
