Why are uniforms and lab coats so junky?

Hi everyone,

Is it just me, or do they make nurse/pharmacy/vet/dental outfits really cheaply?

It seems I could spend $20 on a blouse for my "regular" office job and it would be decently styled, at least somewhat flattering, be made of an acceptable material, and have decent workmanship. However, scrubs/uniforms don't seem to be made of that same standard. If I pay $20 for a scrub top it would be some odd print or a typical color, very little style/tailoring, unflattering, and poorly made in general. It just seems wrong. I'd pay more for something if they came up with a better version!

It seems even worse with lab coats. I figure if you are going to pay $40, there shouldn't be loose strings and unattached fabric hems (sometimes the sleeves or lapels "flip" and show this). You would think the fabric would be of better quality as well. I would gladly pay more for a better garment.

You should try www.marcusuniforms.com They are VERY well priced (some tops for less than $7.00) and SO well made. They are my favorite place to get scrubs.
