I just ordered the all black littman. I was thinkingabout the pink breast cancer one but I really wanted the "master" classic. Besides my dh wanted to get me a military one that was all black so this one will atleast look like his idea
I have 2 blue cheapies that have worked well, got a more expensive pink
cheapie that also worked well, DH bought me a black Littman,... wish it
were pink... , but gotta love it, works the best ! happy shopping
I currently have 3, all infant ones: a "cheapo" pink that I've used for years, works just great; an infant Littman in Carribean-there's not much selection for infant Littmans-; and a pink Ultrascope I just bought last week. It's a bit heavier, I'll just have to give it a test drive for a while.
The one I truly dislike is the double tubing Sprague-Rappaport style--I don't like anything heavy on my neck. I was always throwing it down in disgust.
I've also got an adult Select Littman, royal blue; I figure I might have to use it on my mother some day.
OOOOH OOHH GET A DARK color-it wont show pen marks, neck dirt, grunge etc. Also I bought an orange littman with name engraved, but the lanyard with my name badge on it was black and the color rubbed off onto the stethoscope and made it look brown. SO GO DARK>>>> REALLY esp if it is expensive, get light colored cheap ones, but not in the expensive ones.
MY other thought is this=maybe it is just me but for the littmans,(0r any kind) why cant they make each end -weigh the same--mine is always sliding off on the one end because they are unbalanced. I wish they were more equal to keep the steth from sliding off your neck just as you are finishing up a long catheterization and you cant just grab it and readjust. Is it just me?
