Stethoscopes I Can Actually Hear From??

I have several stethoscopes...Littman to cheapie. I can hear when I take blood pressures, but can barely hear lung sounds unless they are wheezing loudly.

I am not that concerned about money...I hear that they have some that have earpieces that can adjust sound. I don't have hearing problems, but would purchase anything that can help with this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Stethoscopes I Can Actually Hear From??

I also have various types of scopes from sprauge rapport to littmann. I personaly LOVE my Littmann Master Classic 2. It has soft ear pieces that almost conform to your own ear canal and block almost all the noise. I can hear through clothes and while riding in the back of a moving ambulance! I think it is one of the best for quality, durability, price, and blocking out background noise! It costs about $75-80 roughly. I had mine for about 2 yrs now and never had a problem with it. I am an RN and work in a very busy ED so hearing is crucial to the care I give! Hope that helps...

Are you having problems on the posterior side, too?

I am not usre I understand what you mean by problems on posterior side???
My stethescope works well. I think you may have interpreted it wrong when I said it blocks out the noise??? I meant it blocks out all unwanted noise which promotes auscultation and increases what your listening to (heart, lungs etc...) I dont have a problem hearing anterior, posterior, lateral.... EXCELLENT scope all around.

Re: Stethoscopes I Can Actually Hear From??

I was actually directing my question to the original poster. I can often hear lung sounds much better on the back than on the chest, especially if a person has a lot of fatty tissue/large breasts.
