Re: Stethoscope: Littmann cardiology III vs. Littmann master cardiology

I have a Cardiology III is just bought to replace a Classic II SE that I must have misplaced (it was getting pretty beaten up, anyway.) My unit gets a few peds admits, although they tend to be bigger kids and an adult scope has usually worked okay.

I also have an Ultrascope. I don't love it. As advertised, I can hear breath sounds through seven layers--well, three, but I tried it out through my leather jacket and a sweater, and it does okay through sheets, gowns, and even a blanket. Impressive, but the acrylic head is like carrying a doorknob around, and I can hear my own breath on the tubing if I'm not real careful.

I've borrowed the Master Cardiology and it is really nice. So is the Cardio III.
