I've had an Ultrascope for more than a decade. It is great. I have been able to hear lung sounds through a kevlar vest. I had to get new tubing about 6 years ago. Wearing it around my neck caused the tubing to become hardened due to contact with skin oils. No problems since I put a scope sock on it. Big plus is that if you have a cute one, docs are less likely to ask to borrow it and thus walk off with it.

I got an awesome one at Tafford; its literally like sock material, and fits close to the tubing, not one of those fluffy ones or animal-shaped ones. But now they don't sell them anymore!!

Does anyone know where to get them?
Also, In re: stethoscopes--I wil be replacing mine soon too. Does it matter if its double or single lumen (is one better than the other or is it just preference?) and does the length matter? SOme are shorter than others.
