Stethoscope Engraving - where to do it?

I'm looking to purchase a Littmann Classic II se from Redding Medical (after reading good things about them on here):

http://www.reddingmedical.com/57_Lit...4&lastcatid=13

They have the option to do laser engraving on the tubing or hand engraving on the bell. Which do you recommend? Is either better or worse than the other?

Thanks!

Re: Stethoscope Engraving - where to do it?

I would think the bell engraving would be more noticeable and permanent. It seems the engraving on the tubing could be obliterated with effort. You might want to get one of those plastic nameplate identifiers also. Make it harder for a prospective thief!
