Question Assistance - Stethoscope decision

Ok I'm an LPN for 12 yrs entering a RN transition program this spring. I want to buy a new stethoscope since mine is very old. Looking for a Littman....thinking about the Cardiologist III.

any opinions regarding this one?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Stethoscope decision

Might wanna try doing a search on this. Been discussed many times before on this scope as well. I do use a Littman Cardiology III and it is an excellent scope. I do have 3 Littmans and you can't go wrong with any of them. The cardiology III has many pros and no cons from what I can see. Go to the local hospital (ICU preferably, or cardiac unit) and see if you can try one of the nurses scopes out to see how you like it. I don't think you will be disappointed. Good luck with whatever scope you decide on getting.

These are some of the results you will find if you do a search:

Re: Stethoscope decision

That is the some scope I have. Love it. The only thing I can say is two other students in my class had that scope and it was stolen from them during clinical this past semester. I am seriously thinking of getting a cheaper scope to prevent that from happening.

Re: Stethoscope decision

Hi,

I have a Littman Cardiology III and I love it. I am a junior nursing student. So far no one tried to take it. If you buy it on the website mentioned above you can save $100 compared to stores.

Good Luck

Oh sorry the website was not mentioned and I am not sure If I can advertise it. So just do your research online, you will find it.

Also on that website you can compare all the Littman stethoscopes and how they rate.

Hope that Helps

Re: Stethoscope decision

I've heard about them being stolen also and was given the advise to have it engraved to prevent this from happening.

Re: Stethoscope decision

Trying to decide myself. Going Littman Cardio III or the Master Cardio.

Anyone have a preference on the two Cardio models? III or Master?

Re: Stethoscope decision

I have the Cardiology one and it's great! Every time an RN borrows mine they can't believe how good they hear with it and always comment on that. It's an excellent scope.

I think a good stethoscope is a good investment.

I have had mine for 2 years now.
