Regarding UltraScope

Recently I decided to purchase an UltraScope steth (based largely upon reviews on this site!). I chose to purchase the UltraScope Duo (one peds head and one adult head). I picked the style I wanted on the UltraScope website, and then clicked on the Order Now button. I was given a list of authorized vendors. I shopped around a bit, and found that the best pricing was offered through Standris Medical. I ordered, and received my UltraScope yesterday. Two things:

1.) The designs I ordered - Sun and Frog - are SO much prettier in real life than they show on the website. The sun has a bit of glitter to it, and the background of the frog has a pearlized metallic shimmer in blue and green tones - so pretty!

2.) Somewhere on this site I read that someone said to be wary of UltraScopes that arrived in a plastic bag rather than the box - that they were fake. Imagine my fear when my UltraScope arrived yesterday packaged in a clear vinyl zippered pouch, rather than the UltraScope box packaging I was expecting. There was "official" looking UltraScope literature and warranty information in the pouch though. Today I emailed UltraScope directly with my concerns. They confirmed that what I received IS indeed an authentic UltraScope. They said that the vinyl pouch is new packaging for direct customer purchases, and that the boxes will only be used for retail sales (i.e. uniform stores). They said that as long as you use one of their authorized vendors you can be assured of receiving an authentic UltraScope.

Just thought I'd share this insight!
