Alternatives to covers?

Covers, or 'socks,' are considered infection risks and they're usually way too big and... fluffy. I'm aware of belt clips. I know I could just wear a coat (I'm always too hot to consider that). But are there any alternatives to use as sort of a "guard" to stop the scope from coming in direct contact with your neck? I have a Master Cardiology. It's heavy and the tube irritates me after a few hours. I really don't dare to set it down, either.

Buy a clipboard you can store it in. Only thing I can think of.

Re: Alternatives to covers?

When I wore scrubs, I alwa ys work a sleeveless mock turtleneck t-shirt and voila, it didn't touch my neck but I always had it! And...it wasn't too hot either.

I wear regular clothes now with a long lab coat and it still goes around my neck but never makes contact with my skin.

Re: Alternatives to covers?

I use a clip for mine that attaches to my scrub pants. I got it for about $4 at a nursing uniform store.
