Congress has essentially voted to make Medicare Advantage plans compete on an even basis with FFS medicare.

If the private insurance companies want to make money they need to do so within the same financial parameters as traditional medicare. The "efficient" private sector costs all of us at least 15% more than FFS medicare.

It is interesting how much Bush continually pushes private health insurance into Medicare, instead of looking for ways to SAVE money on prescriptions and medical care. One might wonder what was in it for him to always push the private health insurance option. Keep it out of Medicare.
