I predict not only a win for Obama in fall, but also nearly 70 democratic senators in the senate and a very firm majority in the house.
Hopefully enough to back Obama up in actually changing America, without, the lets block everything progressive, ultra right wing. The republicans have allowed their party to be taken over by the extreme right and are now paying the price, or are going to anyway.
And then perhaps we can see a few more moderate justices in the supreme court, more like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and not like Scalia.
What a wonderful place we could become. I have a dream.

I heard an interesting conversation on one of the news shows yesterday discussing the why and wherefores of the downfall of the republicans, the conservatives said it was because of the move AWAY from the conservative principles, another said it was BECAUSE of the far right that the republican party has lost support, as more folks a really middle of the road.

It is how society evolves and defines things. For example above I mentioned that I feel Ruth Bader Grinsburg is a very mainstream justice. However if you asked a European, they would view Justice Ginsburg as ultra right wing and much to hardcore for a progressive society. I think that America is finally becoming more liberal.
I know we had the 60, however that was not a mainstream left shift, but merely a counterculture protest movement as far as politics goes, and a excuse to justify drug use. Drug use by the way has always been a part of human existence from Alcohol to opiates, fact is people like to get high, but thats another story.
I can only hope that we will become a culture that embraces tolerance to wards others and their way of life, their religion or absence of, a culture of integration and not exclusion, a culture that protects rather then oppresses its weakest minority members.

I do not talk politics with most of my family. Our views are just too opposite to even discuss most of the time. Right now, I have decided to do the same on this forum. I have a wait and see and hope for the best attitude.

He still has to have an actual convention FLOOR VOTE. The super-delegate votes DON'T count until then.
I thought the super delegates had to solidify their votes prior to the convention.

Why are you saying this? She was extremely graceful yesterday being very complimentary to Mr. Obama and visa versa. They both realize what a historic run it has been. They both need each other. Sure she's not jumping for joy at losing after coming so close, but she's going to back him regardless because she wants a democrat in the whitehouse.
I'm happy for Obama and will vote for him no matter what, even though I was a Hiliary fan, but I'm praying for a Obama-Hilary ticket. But regardless of the ticket I'm praying Obama wins Whitehouse.

It would have been magnanimous of her to concede to him at that point, would've made the naming of the Democratic nominee even more significant if she would've backed him right then and there. I don't understand her hesitation, she KNOWS 2118 was the number. What really upset me is that she seems to be demanding the VP , yet has the chutzpah to not concede.I REALLY wanted her to be the VP until her speech, I guess you and I viewed it differently.

I guess we did. You have some very harsh standards if that's all it takes to lose your support.

Really? Maybe you're right, but I thought I was pretty accepting . Clinton did a lot of things that could've split the party( maybe she HAS), all of those things could've been water under the bridge if only she would've acted as if she REALLY wanted to support Obama and bring the party back together.
I guess I am mad at Hillary, for now, I have a forgiving nature ( I hope).Who knows maybe in a week from now she and I will be buddies again, not that it matters in the scheme of things, but I do think a lot of Obama supporters got their nose out of joint a bit.
