The more I think about it, the more McCain's offhand "Bomb Iran" remark gets to me. And the more it gets to me, the less I want to vote for him in November.

How about McCain's "predictions" of 2013? He says some troops would be coming home, I guess its better than the 100 years remark, though.

Hillary is predicted to win Ky big. Obama does not have such a big margin in Oregon last time I looked. Is Puerto Rico tomorrow too?

That would be a mistake. Huckabee isn't a conservative.

Conservative: social, spending, national security conservatives

"Neo-con": Social, national security conservative, liberal gov't spender/pro-gov't growth.

McCain: spending conservative, social moderate conservative, pro-national security, when it suits him.

Huck: social conservative, national security and spending liberal.

Huck isn't a conservative. If McCain wants to appeal to conservatives, Huck is the wrong choice.

(Condi hasn't come out from Bush's shadow, but she's a critical element of a big spending Administration. She'd have to prove some fiscal restraint before I signed up.)

Timothy.

He IS guilty by association. That's not enough. That was my point. It took Obama's own 'gun-toting, Bible-thumpin' xenophobic racists' comment to add context to Rev Wright enough to lose Appalachia by a landslide.

LOOK at it like THIS, if you like.

Nationally, Bush has a popularity rating of 28%. THAT is the EXACT percent of the vote Obama got in WV. In Appalachia, Obama is AS UNPOPULAR as Bush. Think about that.

We aren't running someone as unpopular as Bush this time around. In key parts of the nation, Obama fits that bill. Key. Electoral College necessity key.

As his campaign likes to say about Clinton: the math just doesn't add up. He can't win.

~faith,
Timothy.

Re: Clinton In It, To Win It (Brokered Convention, here we come!)

A Clinton supporter said it again today:

She can win because she will win KY and Puerto Rico, she will win Fl and MI at the rules meeting at the end of the month, and because "there are other bombshells out there".

That was on FoxNews' Special Report round table. It'll re-air about 1130 Central, tonight. I'll link it when the transcript becomes available.

This is very telling. This will not be some Republican October surprise. Team Clinton seems quite prepared to 'go there' between now and the convention. She's in it, to win it. As of now, winning means making Obama radioactive. They are now hinting that's acceptable.

~faith,
Timothy.

Polls are strange things , big differences from one poll to the other. One thing that is certain in this race, its you cant depend on the polls.

The bombshell is supposedly that Obama is on the "down low". And if Hillary does that . . . SHE is just a terrible terrible person.

What is really low down is that such a rumor would be used at all.I dont think for a minute it would be Hillary that would be the one using such tactics. What I really think is happening here is that the GOP is AFRAID of a Obama/Clinton ticket and they are trying to drive a wedge in the Democratic party, wont work. Obama will get the needed amount of delegates to win the nomination, no one is upset if Hillary stays in until it happens. It's just a matter of time.
