Question Want advice about hospitals around Burtonsville, MD

I am graduating in May and am moving to burtonsville, MD. Was wondering if any one had advice about where to work??? I am interested in psych nursing but want to get some med-surg under my belt.

I don't know much about Maryland, but agree with you that getting a good med-surg foundation really can make the difference for new nurses. Good for you and good luck with your nursing career.

Burtonsville isn't very far from Washington DC. Maybe 30-40 minutes. In DC there's Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown, George Washington Univ., Howard University. Laurel is pretty close to Burtonsville and they have a good psych program (we did our psych clinical there) Laurel Regional Hospital. Burtonsville also isn't too far from Baltimore (Hopkins, Univ. of Maryland Medical Center). Hope that helps. I work at WHC. I'm a new grad that choose to start in Med/Surg. Good luck.
